Program Summary for the Spring 2020 Season
Program-wide Objectives:
- To introduce the game of lacrosse to as many girls in our community as possible, allowing each to progress at their own pace
- To create a supportive environment in which to develop the most capable , lacrosse players who play with an equal amount of integrity and sportswomanship.
Hello Lacrosse Families.
The following is a brief summary of the programs that will be offered for girls by Greeley Youth Lacrosse for the 2019-20 school year:
Kindergarden:
Objectives: Fun, familiarization with lacrosse.
Parent Run & Organized. Supplemental instruction from NRG Lacrosse
Play: non-competitive, developmental play
Meet: 1 hour per week. Expected to be Sundays at West Orchard School, 4pm. Field subject to change
Required Equipment: girl's lacrosse stick –
Soft lax balls and GYL pinney provided
1st Grade Team:
Objectives: Fun, familiarization with lacrosse.
Parent Run & Organized. Supplemental instruction from NRG Lacrosse
Play: non-competitive, developmental play
Meet: 1 hour per week. Expected to be Sundays at West Orchard School, 4pm. Field subject to change
Required Equipment: girl's lacrosse stick, goggles, mouth piece
Hard lax balls are used and GYL pinney provided
2nd Grade Team:
Objectives: Fun, continued familiarization with lacrosse, introduction to game play
Parent Run & Organized. Supplemental instruction from NRG Lacrosse every other Friday
Play: Primarily Intra-squad practices with 1-2 Jamborees/tournaments per season
Meet: 1 hour 2X per week. Sunday 3-4:15 at West Orchard, Fridays at 7B Lower from 6-7:30
Required Equipment: girl's lacrosse stick, molded mouth guard, eye goggles; GYL pinney provided
Combined 3rd/4th Grade Team(s):
Objectives: Fun, skill development, Introduction to rules and game strategy
Play: Balanced teams, league play against local teams, every other week training from NRG Lacrosse
Meets: ~2 practices / 1 game per week, area jamborees and tournaments on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7:30 and Saturday games
Equipment: girl's lacrosse stick, molded mouth guard, eye goggles
Uniforms required and not included in registration fee
Combined 5th/6th Grade Team(s):
Objectives: Fun skill development, rule emphasis, competitive game play
Play: Two competitive travel teams in local leagues. Teams will be formed based on ability, and everyone will practice together, but there will be no cuts at this level.
Meets: 2 practices/1-2 games per week; local jamborees and tournaments, on Tuesdays at 7B lower and Fridays at HGHS Field C both at 6:00pm. Saturday games will vary depending on the opponent but mostly will be at 10am.

Uniforms required and not included in registration fee
Playing time expectations: Orange Team- >25% aggregate for the season for players that contribute positively to the culture of the team; Blue Team - >40% for each game for players that contribute positively to the culture of the team.
Combined 7th/8th Grade Team :
Objectives: Fun, skill development, rule emphasis, competitive game play
Play: Games in local league.
Meets: 3x per week; local jamborees and tournaments as available. Will coordinate w/ Middle School modified coaches. Our goal is for all girls playing time will be based on their commitment and ability.
